Sandra's birthday is in March and mine in July so for those few months in between I can say that she is as old as I am. Of course for the majority of the time she is more than happy to emphasise that she is the younger because I am a whole year older.
Sandra and Peter have been moved to Magnicourt for a couple of months now and the renovations are coming on well. Peter spends most of his time in the bathroom where he insists he is working on spaces that are not in any current catalogue and should have been banned on the design board. Older houses with character - we love them.
For the past few days they have been cutting down trees for a client and this being the beginning of the outdoor season they were well - tired - I think was the word Peter used last night.
Although Sandra's birthday is not for a few days as Richard and Sue were over they decided to celebrate a little early.
There is a small but good pizza restaurant at Avesnes-le-Comte just down the road from Magnicourt and we were invited there. Sandra had the choice - long day cutting down trees followed by cooking for six - or go and eat pizza. I am sure that she agonised for seconds over that one.
Rather surprisingly for a Tuesday night the wee place was packed and JJ and I had to wait until after the meal before we could dash out to the car and bring in the balloons and bubble blowers.

The remaining French family were somewhat bemused by our antics and have no doubt added to yet more urban myths about the British. It wasn't even midday and the sun was nowhere to be seen but whatever - we had fun.
