Having passed the day at the Dickens Festival JJ and I made our way back up the road to my brother's.
The weather was glorious and we spent a few hours sitting out in the garden watching the fish or running round after Boo the bunny.
Jean-Jacques is fascinated by the fish in Anton's pond. They are pretty big and he quickly dubbed the largest the Orange Whale. He spent ages trying to get photos of them, but of course it is not that easy to get the camera to focus with all the reflections. He got a couple of reasonable shots.
By their back door and up in the trellis Anton and Debbie have a blackbird's nest. She has already had four youngsters and has returned to lay more eggs.
It is quite surprising that she is not frightened by the close proximity of humans or the fact that Charlie the cat sleeps just underneath the nest. Perhaps she realises that he is way to old to jump up anywhere.
The following morning JJ and I set out for the Cat and Custard Pot to meet up with Sue, have lunch and collect the Red Cross package.
Good lunch and we did think of Peter as we drank our beers - so we took back a Spitfire beer mat for him.
